There are plenty of times I read hotel reviews and wonder what the hell the reviewer was thinking. Or worse yet, there are times that two sites may offer differing reviews, meaning that I’m just as confused as ever. The NY Times travel blog has brought a new, Rotten Tomatoes style meta review to my attention.
Sherman’s Travel’s meta hotel review seems like a great idea, offering composite reviews of hotels. It looks like the score is generated by other professional reviews, Sherman’s reviewers, and some qualitative factors I’ve not entirely figured out yet.
One thing to note, based on my initial look, the hotel reviews are by no means comprehensive. Many larger chains are missing from the list, leaving boutique hotels and independents as those covered on the site.
